I was past due for an oil change, which I sometimes do myself, but it was raining and I wanted it done that day. Midas couldn't get it in that day so I went to Jiffy Lube.
What a bunch of tools. My 29.99 oil change was 74 bucks. They put in synthetic without asking me. The dude told me they were giving free Rain-X treatments. Cool enough, I thought, but the douches had the balls to charge me labor for the Rain-X (of course without telling me first).
God knows what the bill would have been if I took the three or four other things they told me I need. I was in a hurry and told them to just change the f'n oil.
That was my first and last visit there, although I cannot speak to them as a chain.
Midas has been wonderful. Twice I authorized repairs up to a couple hundred bucks and left and they could have easily scammed me but didn't. Once was when I thought my AC needed charging. I came back and it was a 19 dollar belt. I trust those guys a hell of a lot more. |
